Happy Day

Alex smiled at me this morning! It made my day.  He has smiled at Kathie, and even our neighbor, but had not given me a smile yet.  It’s amazing how such a simple thing can light up your morning.

And it was more than just a quick one… he was smiling away for a couple minutes.

Kathie could have reported the first smile here and received credit for it, but she refuses to learn to blog :)

New Dog

We have a new dog. Yes, I know… we’re crazy.  Braden picked out his name: Chuck.  He’s a very nice dog.  Braden loves feeding him.  Braden even likes it when he licks his face.  Quite often we find Chuck looking at Alex.  He also likes sleeping with Braden.

Braden walks Chuck and makes sure we pick up his poop.  We’re also very careful when we see other dogs when walking so that Chuck doesn’t get too excited.

Here’s a picture of Chuck with Braden and Alex:

Yes, Chuck is an imaginary dog.  But Braden has been taking care of his imaginary dog 24 hours a day for 2 days now.  He has even been telling our neighbors and people we meet on our walks about Chuck.

So, maybe we don’t need to get a dog after all.  We could probably  even get an imaginary pony for Emma.

New Brewer Recruit

Not that I have an extremely high sense of loyalty to RedPrairie or anything, but it is pretty cool to see your company’s logo up at some place like Miller Park.  And it’s even in a spot of honor next to a Miller sign.  Too bad about the Time Warner sign though.

Lost in Translation

We’re having our carpets cleaned today.  Braden came in and said “The carpet cleaner man sure has his hands full.”  We asked him why and he said “Because he’s carrying a lot of stuff.”  Apparently he literally had his hands full.
